Stuart studied at Trinity College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, and is Musical Director of the Olivier Award-winning West End production of We Will Rock You.

Stuart is a gifted musical director and arranger with numerous stage credits. Highlights include, musical director, We Will Rock You; Tommy and This Is Elvis (UK tours); Time’s UP (Ray Cooney); Anthems (with Kerry Ellis and Brian May, Royal Albert Hall and UK tour); The Night of a 1000 Voices (Royal Albert Hall); The Wiz (Mountview); Ruth Jones' 2011 Christmas Cracker (BBC Wales); A League of their Own – Champions of the World (Sky 1); Choral Director, Chess in Concert (Royal Albert Hall/DVD); Release the Beat (Arcola); Associate Musical Director, Cabaret (2006 West End revival).

Stuart has performed at many prestigious venues including, the Royal Festival Hall, London Palladium, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Her Majesty's Theatre and St John's Smith Square. His television credits include, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway; A League of Their Own ‘Champions of the World’; Pop Star to Opera Star; Ruth Jones' Christmas Cracker.

Last year Stuart re-orchestrated and co-produced the new edition of Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Caballe's ‘Barcelona’ album for Island Records. He provided the orchestrations for the UK tour of Monkee Business. He also conducted former Royal Harpist Claire Jones's new Heartstrings album with the English Chamber Orchestra for Classic FM.
