Irene Alano Rhodes, star of Miss Saigon appears in Love Beyond The Musical at The SSE Arena Wembley on 1 & 2 October 2014

Belting out her favourite musical theatre songs from the age of 5, Irene achieved her dream of performing on stage in 1995 when she was chosen to play the part of ‘Gigi’ in the West End production of Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

She has then done a few more shows namely Jesus Christ Superstar, UK Tour (understudied Mary Magdalene), The King and I at the London Palladium and UK National tour (understudied Lady Thiang and Tuptim) and most recently understudied the role of ‘Christmas Eve’ in the West End production of Avenue Q. (where she also had a treat and learned the art of puppetry!)

Other credits include: ‘Toypurnia’ in Zorro the Musical workshop, ‘May Ling’ in the film I want Candy, Ensemble in the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar as well as TV commercials.

Last year, she fulfilled her dream of doing her own major concert back home in the Philippines entitled West End, a benefit show and got to help children with disabilities in the town of Cebu.

Irene continues to do her own shows in the UK and abroad.
